Some Incredible Facts About PUBG that you Don't Know

 Incredible Facts About PUBG

  • PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds started life as a mod for the popular game ARMA 2.
  • The unique ‘battle royale’ premise of this game was inspired from the not-so-famous Japanese movie, Battle Royale (2000), whose story centered around a group of students from the same class fighting until the last man standing, on an island.
  • Brendan Greene, the creator of PUBG, did not know to the programme prior to developing the game. He learned to programme on his own, improvising as he went on to develop the game.
  • At one point, PUBG was to be based on the famous Hunger Games premise, where all the weapons would be kept in a central location for players to pick up. But seeing that it would take out the fun and reduce survival times, including a possible copyright infringement from the creators of Hunger Games, he opted to follow the now-iconic ‘loot spread out in the map’ option.
  • PUBG is one of the most realistic shooter games out there, with highly accurate recoil patterns of guns and bullet drops over long distances, unlike its colorful and cartoonish rival, Fortnite.
  • When Bluehole Studios, a Korean game studio, hired Brendan to lead the development on the final release version of the game, it was the first time any of the Korean game developers, who usually promoted homegrown talents to the bigger posts, had put a foreigner at the top post. It was a really, really big deal!

  • The earliest version of PUBG, the alpha version, included a sneaky 2D replay option, which allowed you to see where other players landed on the map!
  • A fact for those who have played only the mobile version of PUBG and not the PC version: The PC version includes friendly fire, which means accidentally killing your teammate by shooting him or driving a vehicle over him is a very real possibility (and happens a lot more than usual!) This feature is not present in the mobile version, where the only ways to kill your teammates are by popping a couple of frag grenades at them or shooting and destroying the vehicle they are in
  • In the PC version of PUBG, you can die in an instant if you accidentally flip over the vehicle you are in, or if you hit a wall at high speed resulting in a vehicle explosion. This is very rare in the mobile version.
